'one' dan 'ones' adalah kata ganti dari sebuah benda atau orang yang telah disebutkan di kalimat sebelumnya. 'one' untuk tunggal dan 'ones' untuk jamak. Contohnya:
- I've just bought two cones of ice cream, chocolate and vanilla. The chocolate one tastes better than the vanilla.
- There are three groups of soldier down there, two from Africa and one from South America. The ones from Africa seems to be quite tough.

'Once' bisa berarti 'satu kali/ sekali' atau 'dahulu/ dahulu kala'.
Contoh:
